ACM SIGGRAPH is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who wants to get involved with the organization to work on its newly designed (coming soon) siggraph.org site.
ACM SIGGRAPH is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who wants to get involved with the organization to work on its newly designed (coming soon) siggraph.org site. Experience and skills in web content management, writing and editing for the web, graphic design and site management required for this Content Manager position. Time commitment: 15-20 hours per month; monthly stipend available.
The website content manager will be responsible for developing and soliciting content for all aspects of the organization’s online presence. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site content, this person will also work closely with the volunteer committees to keep the site engaging and fresh.
Responsibilities
Create, edit and manage content for organization’s web presence (requires working with content management software)
Coordinate web projects across volunteer committees
Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties
Maintain and develop the master content calendar
Copyedit and proofread all web content
Identify out of date information and age it off the site
Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, listservs, and events
Assure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference
Track and report on all site metrics
Work cooperatively with key volunteers to collect information and publish it
Create a compelling reason for members to regularly visit the site.
Required Skills
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Basic Adobe Photoshop skills, re-sizing, cropping and optimizing for web delivery.
Proven ability to work effectively with volunteers
1-3 years’ experience managing content and production for high traffic websites
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or commensurate experience with Word Press or another CMS system
Passion, Integrity and Energy!
Familiarity with ACM SIGGRAPH and Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques a must.
