Computer Animation Festival “Best of Shows” Nominated for Academy Awards
Both the SIGGRAPH 2008 Computer Animation Festival “Best of Show” winner (Oktapadi) and the SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 “Best of Show” winner (This Way Up) were nominated by the Academy in the Short Film (Animated) category.
Since 1999, the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival has been an official qualifying festival for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences "Best Animated Short Film" award
