Under the new ACM SIGGRAPH ByLaws, ACM SIGGRAPH standing committee chairs are no longer members of the ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee (EC). This was initiated in order for ACM SIGGRAPH Directors to have more strategic rather than operational roles. In order to ensure that ACM SIGGRAPH standing committees (like Education) continue to have good channels of communication and interaction with the EC, standing committee liaisons are now appointed from the EC to each standing committee.

At the October 3rd meeting of the ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee, EC Director At Large Tony Baylis was appointed Liaison to the ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee. Tony will serve as the link between the ACM SIGGRAPH organization and its Education Committee. He is subscribed to the committee listserv, and he will be invited to all Education Committee meetings in the hope that he will be able to attend when possible. Tony will present Education Committee reports to the EC, will serve as spokesperson for the Education Committee on the EC, and will also serve to offer annual assessments of the Committee to the EC.
