ACM SIGGRAPH 2005 Ballot Results
The ACM SIGGRAPH 2005 election results are in. G. Scott Owen was elected President, and Alyn Rockwood was elected Vice President. New offices begin on July 1, 2005. We appreciate the commitment to ACM SIGGRAPH that all the candidates made in accepting the nominations and regret that the candidates who were not elected will not serve on the Executive Committee at this time. We are sure that such outstanding volunteers will have many other opportunities to serve within ACM SIGGRAPH, and we look forward to continuing to work with all the candidates in some way.
Each year the Nominating Committee, led by the Past President of ACM SIGGRAPH, looks for nominees for the following year's Executive Committee positions. The committee will be nominating for three positions this year: Treasurer, Director for Education, and Director at Large. More information about the duties of each position can be found in our bylaws. The Nominating Committee for 2005-2006 will be chaired by the Past President, Alain Chesnais. Anyone interested in a leadership position in ACM SIGGRAPH is encouraged to contact him to express your interest or to suggest good candidates.
We appreciate the interest of everyone who voted in this election and remind all members of ACM SIGGRAPH that your votes set the direction of the organization. I would also like to thank the Nominating Committee, David Arnold and Marcello Zuffo, for their time and effort spent interviewing candidates for these positions.
