This workshop focused on developing computer graphics curricula within a computer science context in the light of the Bologna education framework. The workshop was held during the Eurographics 2006 conference in Vienna, with a significant component of ACM SIGGRAPH members among its 23 international participants.

2007 Sandbox Symposium Call for Participation now available

2007 Sandbox Symposium Call for Participation now available

The second annual ACM SIGGRAPH Sandbox Symposium on videogames calls for papers, hot games and paper proposals. We are looking for work that describes or illustrates innovative research in videogame theory, practice and criticism. Video games are a singular technological medium, comparable in cultural impact to the telephone, television or the Internet. What are the creative, technological and commercial challenges facing this medium in the future? How do we relate great stories that leverage advances in technology? What is the continuing impact of this medium on individuals and society?

New ACM SIGGRAPH Education Site

The ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee site has been updated and moved to education.siggraph.org. The new site employs the Plone content management system now in use by ACM SIGGRAPH, which will offer a host of useful features. One such feature, already in place, is the ability for users to post comments about published items. This Fall, the Education Committee will be developing an online Education Database to replace the former Academic Index, which is no longer operational.
