SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 Call for Mascot Animations
Have you wanted to contribute to the Computer Animation Festival, but didn't have enough time to do a full short film? SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 has just issued a special call for Mascot Animations: make a short animation featuring our Mascot character and your work could be part of the titles for the SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 Festival!
How to participate in the Spend a Week at SIGGRAPH program, either as a student or a mentor
The goal of the program is to give a group of local area high school students a full week's exposure to the best of computer graphics and interactive techniques. Pioneer mentors work with one or two students before, during, and after the conference. The result means a true learning experience for both pioneers and students.

Imagina Awards
Monaco, Thursday 5 February 2009, 10:00 pm. The 2009 winners were announced this evening during the IMAGINA Awards ceremony. Around 30 countries from all over the world participated in the competition which awarded 14 prizes to the best 3D works.

Candidates selected for the ACM SIGGRAPH 2009 elections
The ACM SIGGRAPH nominating committee is pleased to present the following slate of candidates for the positions of Treasurer and Director at Large for the 2009 elections. For the position of Treasurer: Jeff Jortner, Garry Paxinos. For two positions of Director-at-Large: Tony Baylis, Rob Cook, Paul Debevec, Jim Kilmer. ACM SIGGRAPH members may vote online between April 15th and June 15
Computer Animation Festival “Best of Shows” Nominated for Academy Awards
Both the SIGGRAPH 2008 Computer Animation Festival “Best of Show” winner (Oktapadi) and the SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 “Best of Show” winner (This Way Up) were nominated by the Academy in the Short Film (Animated) category.
