Up one levelACM SIGGRAPH call for potential EC candidates --deadline July 30, 2005
ACM SIGGRAPH, the world's premiere professional association for computer graphics and interactive techniques, is a volunteer run organization. The ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee (EC) sets the policy issues for the organization, and acts as its overall governing body. There are three different volunteer positions currently up for the 2006 election by our membership to the ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee. The ACM SIGGRAPH Nominating Committee is seeking exceptional individuals interested in participating in these leadership opportunities: Treasurer, Director for Education, and Director at Large.
George Lucas, Computer Graphics Technology Draw More Than 29,000 to Los Angeles
SIGGRAPH 2005, the 32nd conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques, attracted 29,122 artists, research scientists, developers, and academics from 81 countries to Los Angeles this week.
Conference Presentations DVD-ROM set available
The SIGGRAPH 2005 Conference Presentations DVD-ROM set is now available for purchase. Over 250 hours of content was recorded at this year's conference and is being made available on a 7 disc DVD-ROM set. This set will include over 400 speaker presentations fully synchronized with accompanying presentation materials including slides, videos and live demos.
Call for Reviewers
Apply to become a reviewer for Computing Reviews. A collaboration between the ACM and Reviews.com, Computing Reviews publishes reviews by area experts in monthly issues and daily online. As a reviewer, you will make a significant contribution to the computing community by using your expertise in writing informed critiques of current computing literature.
New Orleans - SIGGRAPH 96 and 2000
We have had two wonderful SIGGRAPH Conferences in New Orleans, SIGGRAPH 96 and 2000. This great city now needs our help. We call on people from around the world who attended these Conferences and enjoyed the city to help New Orleans now.

ACM SIGGRAPH members honored by Academy
Congratulations to members of the ACM SIGGRAPH Community who received 2005 Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Scientific and Technical Awards are given for devices, methods, formulas, discoveries or inventions of special and outstanding value to the arts and sciences of motion pictures that also have a proven history of use in the motion picture industry.
Computer Graphics Education 06 workshop in Vienna, September 9, 2006
ACM SIGGRAPH and Eurographics are pleased to announce that there will be another computer graphics education workshop this summer, held in conjunction with the Eurographics 06 conference in Vienna and its conference education programme.
Digital Arts Committee formed
ACM SIGGRAPH Has formed a Digital Arts Committee to coordinate efforts in this area.
Election results
The ACM SIGGRAPH 2006 election results are in. Jeff Jortner was elected Treasurer, Rick Barry was elected Director for Education and Jim Kilmer was elected Director at Large. New offices begin on July 1, 2006. We appreciate the commitment to ACM SIGGRAPH that all the candidates made in accepting the nominations. We are sure that such outstanding volunteers will have many other opportunities to serve within ACM SIGGRAPH, and we look forward to continuing to work with all the candidates.
CG Pioneer Bill Kovacs Passes Away
Bill Kovacs, who co-founded Wavefront Technologies, earned a 1997 Academy Award for science and engineering innovations and who worked as a programmer on TRON, passed away last Tuesday at his home in Camarillo, California. Kovacs, who was 56, died of a stroke in his sleep brought on by a cerebral hemorrhage.
SIGGRAPH Information System RFP
The ACM SIGGRAPH Conference Advisory Group (CAG) is inviting companies to submit a proposal to act as the official Information System Design and Maintenance Services Contractor for the SIGGRAPH 2008, SIGGRAPH 2009 and SIGGRAPH 2010 conferences.
Sandbox - an ACM SIGGRAPH Video Game Symposium
ACM SIGGRAPH is sponsoring the first ever two-day video game symposium on 29 July and 30 July in 2006, co-located with SIGGRAPH 06 in Boston, MA, USA. The symposium will consist of keynotes, panels and papers. In addition, a "Hot Games" session will preview unreleased titles from major game companies and indie developers. The Sandbox program has just been announced with keynotes by Greg Costikyan of Manifesto Games and Ian Shaw from E.A. UK.

Update: ACM SIGGRAPH 2006 Full Conference DVD-ROM
The ACM SIGGRAPH 2006 Full Conference DVD-ROM publication has been mailed to all SIGGRAPH 2006 'Full Conference' registrants. Packages for delivery in the US were sent out on August 11th and 14th, and packages for delivery outside the US were sent out on August 16th.
