SIGGRAPH Asia continues its tradition to present the best in computer graphics and animation techniques to a worldwide audience from 15 – 18 Dec 2010 the Coex Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, Korea. Set to inspire computer graphics and interactive media professionals and enthusiasts, the third edition of SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 promises to showcase a line-up of never-before-seen works that will raise the benchmark in digital creativity. SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 will feature four exciting programs, namely, Computer Animation Festival, Courses, Technical Papers, Technical Sketches & Posters as well as a Trade Exhibition.

How to participate in the Spend a Week at SIGGRAPH program, either as a student or a mentor
The goal of the program is to give a group of local area high school students a full week's exposure to the best of computer graphics and interactive techniques. Pioneer mentors work with one or two students before, during, and after the conference. The result means a true learning experience for both pioneers and students.
ACM SIGGRAPH mourns the loss of our much-loved Ken Torrance
Kenneth Torrance, esteemed colleague, respected professor and treasured friend, died of a heart attack on Monday, 15 February 2010. A memorial service and reception in his honor will be held on February 27 at 11 am at The Statler Hotel, Cornell University in the Statler Ballroom.

Teaching Computer Graphics in Context - CGE 09 Workshop report
The Computer Graphics Education Workshop 2009 workshop was organized to explore ideas in computer graphics education with a focus on teaching computer graphics in context. While previous workshops have focused on designing the computer graphics curriculum, this workshop recognized the importance of designing the students' learning experience within the curriculum.
SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 – a kaleidoscope of digital media experiences
As the four-day SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 drew to a close, approximately 6,500 visitors from more than 50 countries all across Asia and globally made their way to Pacifico Yokohama to participate in the region’s largest display of the latest in computer graphics, interactive techniques, and digital media and content. More than 500 artists, academics, and industry experts presented a vibrant array of thought-provoking works, breakthrough ideas and radical innovations at SIGGRAPH Asia 2009.
Ed Catmull is awarded the Gorden E. Sawyer Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Imagina Awards
Monaco, Thursday 5 February 2009, 10:00 pm. The 2009 winners were announced this evening during the IMAGINA Awards ceremony. Around 30 countries from all over the world participated in the competition which awarded 14 prizes to the best 3D works.
ACM SIGGRAPH 2009 election results are in
Rob Cook and Paul Debevec have been elected to the positions of Director-at-Large and Jeff Jortner has been elected Treasurer to the ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee. New offices begin on July 1, 2009 for a three year term.
