New Logo
There was a discussion on the color choices for the new ACM SIGGRAPH
logo that was approved at the May Executive Committee meeting. The
selected logo will have both red and blue, to mirror the colors in
the current logo. The logo design selected has red at the top and
blue at the bottom. There is a version that is shaded and appears to
be three-dimensional, a flat-shaded two-dimensional version, and
gray-scale and black versions for print where color is not
available. The text, ACM SIGGRAPH, in two fonts and colors is part
of the logo and should always appear with it.
We encourage ACM SIGGRAPH committees and chapters to use an
adaptation of the new logo, and a task force (Judy Brown, Stephen
Spencer, and Thierry Frey) will update the policy on logo use.
Research Workshop
There was a proposal that we allow the seed money allocated for a
formal National Research Council (NRC) Panel on Computer Graphics to
be used for a workshop to be held this fall. The details of this
proposal are in the minutes from the May 2003 Executive Committee
minutes.

SIGGRAPH 2003 Update
Scott Owen reported that exhibit sales for SIGGRAPH 2003 are down
about $80,000, but that the committee has saved $160,000 from
multiple places throughout the committee budget lines. Registration
numbers will not be known until four weeks prior to the conference.
