The Vice President's and President's preliminary budgets for Fiscal Year 2003 were presented by Alan Chalmers and Judy Brown, respectively. A line item for traveling courses is currently in the Vice President's budget, but the Executive Committee will discuss at the January meeting where this activity fits best and what its financial model will be.

Motion (Cunningham, Hourvitz): To approve the minutes of the October EC meeting.

Scott Owen presented a request from the SIGGRAPH 2002 Conference Chair, Tom Appolloni, to contract with Capstone Systems Inc. for central program administration. This contract will be for $90,000. The main reason to have central program administration is to have the conference program information be more reliable and more consistent. The Conference Advisory Group feels that this job is best done by the company that has the Conference Administration contract, which is currently Capstone.

Motion (Owen, Chalmers) To award a central program administration contract to Capstone Systems, Inc.

Because of the amount of the contract, we need to have approval from SIG Governing Board and ACM Executive Committee to sole source the contract, rather than having an open Request for Proposal (RFP). Judy Brown will forward the request to SIG Governing Board.
