SIGGRAPH Executive Committee Conference Call
June 26, 1998
The conference call focused on issues within Communications, with most of the emphasis on the movie project. Concerns were raised about the interviewees and the interview questions. John Hart described the content control through the script (written by Judson Rosebush) and a content committee, with reviews passed back to Carl Machover and Rosebush. Questions are being developed by Frank Foster with possible feedback from Rosebush. Interviews will be shot at the conference and will be reviewed by Foster and Joan Collins, and a rough cut of each section will be created for review. The rough cuts will be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
The discussion about donations continued. Hart outlined donations to date, which add up to between $600,000 and $700,000 with major donations from SIGGRAPH and SONY. Expenditures are being managed in order to retain enough funds to complete the production if there are no further donations.
Hart announced that he appointed Garry Paxinos as the new Information Director, replacing Bob Judd who resigned due to personal commitments.
