On Thursday, October 24, the Women in Animation LA Chapter will hold its general meeting, the theme of which is "Women Write Royal."

A panel of female writers from the popular Disney Channel show, "Sofia the First," will be on hand to discuss their careers and answer questions such as:

  • What are the particular challenges of writing for a show that's not only wildly popular, but different from anything else on television?
  • How do you make characters truly real, but also truly royal?

From WIA:

"If you are interested in any of these questions – or have a few of your own – you cannot miss this opportunity. You also can't miss the opportunity to meet WIA's own community of writers."

In addition to the panel of writers, Head Writer and Executive Producer Craig Gerber will also be in attendance. Schmoozing and networking begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting proper starts at 7:00 p.m. Food and soft drinks will be available.

Seating is limited, so please RSVP early. To RSVP, email lachapterrsvps@aol.com (this is the only address accepting RSVPs – please don't email WIA International). The cut-off for RSVPs is Tuesday, October 22.

Non-members will be asked for a $10.00 donation, members are free.
