In the SIGGRAPH 96 Career Center, job seekers offered résumés and employers posted opportunities. On request, Career Center staff distributed résumés to specific employers. They also scheduled interviews in private meeting rooms.
Career Center facilities and services were available free of charge to SIGGRAPH 96 exhibitors and attendees who were exploring job opportunities. Non-exhibitor employers were required to make arrangements with the Exhibition Management office to use the Career Center.
Résumés were sent to Conference Management in advance, or dropped off at the Carreer Center during SIGGRAPH 96. Job seekers were asked to indicate which of the following categories applied to their interests and experience:
Organizations interested in posting job listings in the SIGGRAPH 97 Career Center should send email to email@example.com to request posting requirements.
Accent on Arrangements provided age-appropriate child care activities for children from three months to 16 years of age at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Children were registered for a minimum of three hours. Individualized evening child care was also available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis.
The Accent on Arrangements staff was certified in Infant and Child CPR. Child care services were guaranteed to be available during the following hours:
Sunday 11:30 am to 7 pm
Monday 8 am to 6 pm
Tuesday 8 am to 7 pm
Wednesday 8 am to 7 pm
Thursday 8 am to 6 pm
Friday 8 am to 6 pm
Advance registration prices: $6 per hour for the first child per family; all others from the same family $5 per hour per child. Onsite registration prices: $7 per hour for the first child per family; all others from the same family $5 per hour per child.
Fees included snacks and beverages in the morning and afternoon.
