As eager conference goes milled into frigid lobby of the Los Angeles convention center, the 2004 SIGGRAPH Annual conference was off to a enthusastic start. Unlike years past, when conference ramped up slowly for the first couple days, this year's convention offered its first academic sketches starting at 8:30 am on the very first day. Exhibits in Emerging Technologies, the Art Gallery, and the Animation Theatre kicked off just after lunch.
