Adelaide Chapter ACM SIGGRAPH
The Adelaide Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH was formed in October 2002 in order to provide a forum for collaboration between computing science, engineering, information technology, art, architecture and design. We welcome active participation that generates innovative computing graphics research and development. Digital media studio practice in art, architecture and design is a major concern. We are keen to develop joint projects for industry and education partners.
Each year the Adelaide Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH organises events for the education and industry community to present their work at seminars. Past events include the "Breaking into the Animation Industry" seminar that offered a look at the requirements for animation and effects industry entry. This event proved very popular as 250 people attended to enjoy the presentations from leading animation companies and government organisations including Rising Sun Pictures, Ratbag games, Digital Artisan, People's Republic of Animation, Guava Special Effects, and the South Australian Film Corporation. We plan to repeat the format in 2005. Other regular events include the screening of the famous Electronic Theatre from SIGGRAPH conference, and the ACA Japanese Animation Festival. Regular Industry presentations of recent work are also held by companies such as Rising sun Pictures, Ratbag, Guava, CG Character, True Life Creations and others. I you wish to participate, please join the Adelaide Chapter of SIGGRAPH for regular reminders. Contact Dr Dean Bruton, Chair Adelaide Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH, to be added to the mailing list.
