For mobile Augmented Reality to become pervasive, sensor and vision processing have to inter-operate seamlessly with advanced 3D graphics and computing. The entire Augmented Reality pipeline also has to be efficiently accelerated to increase performance and precision while reducing power consumption. Khronos is the industry consortium that creates cutting-edge acceleration standards such as OpenGL ES (high-performance graphics). Neil Trevett will discuss how open standards are being developed to form the acceleration foundation for Augmented Reality and how NVIDIA is using those standards to enable advanced Augmented Reality on Tegra-powered devices.
