Interacting with Huge Particle Simulations in Maya using the GPU (using Maximus)

Tuesday 13 December | 14:00 - 14:50 | Room S221

Typically, particle simulation in Maya has been a non-interactive workflow. In this session, we present a plug-in for Maya which enables an artist to simulate huge particle counts in real-time by leveraging the NVIDIA GPU. Obvious applications are previs, but being able to interact with the simulation also opens up new possibilities for modifying the workflow. We will demonstrate the plug-in and provide insight into the algorithms used.
