Artist Statement: In our haste to claim
the future
we deny
the present moment
only to find
its tattered remnants
later
emerging
from the shadows
in a series of
endless loops
endless loops of
endings and beginnings
scrawled
onto the walls
of primitive caves
encoded
into the structures
of digital files
alphas and omegas
and the artist within
each of us
locked
in the eternal
struggle
to draw
meaningful
connections
between ourselves
and the
Great Mystery
beckoning to us
just beyond
the edges of
the paint.
