Artist Statement: I strive to achieve a sense of classic elegance in my digital work. My dramatic monochrome high contrast
images focus on still life. I concentrate on familiar themes and much of my subject matter can be found in
my home. I have worked in the darkroom for many years and two of these black and white images were
originally successful silver gelatin prints while the others were created especially for the digital medium.
Although acknowledging the major effect of color, I feel that by limiting my work to black and white, I can
present an image with added impact, precision and clarity.
