This film takes
the bold yet graceful line of classical Japanese
patterns and puts in into motion. Much of the rapid progression of
intersections, warps and rotations was left to a modeling program
to
decide; intentional human controls were purposefully kept to a minimum.
The pseudo-coincidences generated by the software create a serendipitous
aesthetic similar to the cracks etched in Japanese ceramics by the
firing kiln. |
