process
27,000 objects
comprise a composite universe of New-York City reconstructed.
This material has been structured into a database accessible
with a picture browser. The materials and textures are extracted
from the photos and processed through graphic software, compressed
and sized for 3D modeling. It is important to state here that
there is no filtering of color or any such modification that
alters the original picture. The point is to extract the essential
"real vibration" in the picture and to preserve it,
meaning here the true colors and patterns taken in the precise
time and space conditions of the photographs.
The sketches and samples of process steps show the essential
use of planes and transparencies to build and animate about
everything, from cars to people and buildings.
