Stewart Dickson

  A Zoetrope is constructed by attaching 60 phases of an object in metamorphosis to a rotating wheel. The ''animation'' is ''frozen'' in space via synchronized stroboscopic lighting. The metamorphosis is a torus turning ''inside-out'' at 3 points on its surface.

Costa's genus 1, three-ended minimal surface is topologically equivalent to a simple torus.

Software: The Mathematica system for doing mathematics by computer (Wolfram Research, Inc.) and custom software by Stewart Dickson.

Hardware: Silicon Graphics, Stratasys Genisys Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Machine
