My recent artwork portrays female subjects who are in the midst of constructing a
complex identity that takes the functional rationales of a technologically based
society to its excessive extremes in order to use its logic to serve her appetites
for power, control, and sexual satiation.
The Siren is an image of a woman constructing an industrial form out of her hair
using decorative braids and hair weaves. The physical prowess of men is fueling the
regeneration of her hair which is swallowing the landscape and the men upon it.
