Voted unanimously to cooperate with IEEE CG Technical Committee on Computer Graphics on SIGGRAPH 92 and to explore future joint activities. (August 6, 1987)

That IEEE not automatically be granted in-cooperation status with our annual conference, effective with SIGGRAPH 94. (January 9-10, 1993)

(Note: This was financially motivated, not politically.)

ACM requested that SIGGRAPH reconsider its policy regarding the IEEE Computer Society no longer sponsoring the annual conference on an "in cooperation with" basis. (August 7, 1993)

Motion approved: To reinstate the "in cooperation with" status with the IEEE Computer Society for the annual SIGGRAPH conference at such time as the ACM policies permit a registration fee structure as follows:

ACM + SIG <= SIG only <= ACM only <= Non Member

with the understanding that IEEE Computer Society –only members are considered equivalent to ACM-only members. (August 7, 1993)

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has created an ACS/SIGGRAPH group. This group is not affiliated with us. They just like us and decided to use a similar name. (May 18, 1983)

Affiliated with three groups in Japan: Nicograph, the Japanese Management Association (JMA), Japanese Graphic Designers Association(JAGDA). Lauren Herr appointed SIGGRAPH representative to Japan. (July 28, 1983)

Japanese liaison reports to the Vice Chair of Operations. (August 6, 1988)

Responsibility for Japanese liaison transferred to editor-in-chief. (October 30, 1988)

(Note: At that time Japanese liaison, Lauren Herr, was paid $13,000 to translate conference documents.)

In a discussion of SIGGRAPH becoming a member of the VRML Consortium, ACM found that ACM SIGGRAPH can join as a non-voting member and thus cannot name an individual to sit on the Board of the Consortium. (February 2, 1997)

Approved agreement with Nordic Interactive. (Agreement not included.) (May 5, 2001)

Agreement renewals with the Computer Graphic Arts Society and the Digital Content Association of Japan (DCAj) approved. (Not included) (June 13, 2001)

Approve agreement of cooperation between ACM SIGGRAPH and China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG). (October 28, 2001)

To approve the IGDA cooperation agreement for one year. (January 25-26, 2002)

To approve the agreement with Imagina. (Not included.) (February 13, 2002)

Cooperation agreements with International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA) and Swedish Computer Graphics Society (SIGRAD) approved. (Not included.) (May 3-4, 2002)

Cooperating societies should inform ACM SIGGRAPH three months prior to the conference of their intention to use space and vice versa. Existing cooperation agreements should be modified as they come up for renewal. (May 3-4, 2002)

To modify the agreements to read “The cooperating society is to inform ACM SIGGRAPH three months prior to the conference of their intention to use space and vice versa.” This adjustment is to make it easier to plan space requirements at the annual conference by knowing sooner which societies intend to be there. Earlier agreements specified that an organization would let us know one month prior to the conference if they did not plan to use the space, and this change is being applied to all new contracts. (June 12, 2002)

Amendment to International Games Developer Association (IGDA) agreement

* To extend the agreement from one year to three years.

* To modify the agreements to read “The cooperating society is to inform ACM SIGGRAPH three months prior to the conference of their intention to use space and vice versa.” (June 12, 2002)
