Membership

Voted to poll the membership about boycotting non-ERA states as conference sites. (Feb 27, 1981)

ACM Council ruled that SIGGRAPH can't poll its membership about holding conference in non-ERA states. (Feb 28, 1982)

 

Approved to mail everything with time value first class. (Feb 28, 1982)

 

Conference planning and executive committee meetings are open to SIGGRAPH members. (Oct 12, 1984)

 

Offer from Springer-Verlag for SIGGRAPH members to get a reduced price (20% off) the proceedings of selected workshops of Eurographics. (November 1995)

 

To implement the membership program. (Doesn't say what it is.) (December 5-7, 1997)

 

Chair directed to pursue membership issues at the SGB level: (August 14, 1999)

1) Student memberships to be independent of ACM student membership (Later approved by ACM)

2) SIG members to have lower fees for events sponsored by that SIG than other ACM members. (Not approved by ACM.)

 

To have a student only membership fee of $20 with benefits identical to the current membership. (March 11, 2000)

 

ACM approved the SIG-only student membership. ACM SIGGRAPH will set its student member rate at $20 for the 2001 fiscal year. (April 12, 2000)
